*HOT HOT HOT NOTICE* FITNESS CLOSURE DATE CHANGE! The Fitness Center will be open from 8 -11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14. The building will close at 11:30 a.m. for a scheduled construction power outage and will remain closed on Sunday, August. 15.  The building will re-open Monday, August 16 at 4:30 a.m. for normal operating hours.

*NOTICE* The Fitness Center will be open from 8 -11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 7.  At 11:30 a.m., August 7, the building will close for a scheduled power outage and will remain closed thru Sunday, August. 8.  The building will re-open Monday, August 9 for normal operating hours.

*HOT* The 1/4 mile track by the Education Center and football field is off limits during PT Testing! There are three running trails on Shaw AFB. Please utilize them during restricted track times. One is located next to the Base Chapel (3/4 mile) across from the Fitness Center. Two tracks are located at the Sports Complex.  One is 1.5 miles in distance and the other is .437 miles course around the Youth Soccer field. If you have any questions please contact the Fitness Center at 895-2789 or email fitness@20thfss.com

The track will be closed for official testing during the following hours:

Closed Summer Hours: (April - October) Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - Noon
Closed Winter Hours: (November - March) Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

*HOT* The Fitness Assessment Cell (FAC) will be available to demonstrate to individuals the proper way to do the push-ups and crunches IAW the new PT program. They will be set up in the Lobby every Monday and Wednesday at 1-3 p.m., They will help to ensure you will be ready to pass the new Air Force PT Test. Do not be unprepared for the new criteria. The Shaw Fitness and Sports Center < -- (click for brochure) offers three racquetball courts, one walley ball court, men's and women's locker rooms with a sauna in each, large free weight and resistance training room, two cardiovascular rooms, parent/child room, spinning room, two aerobic rooms, basketball/volleyball courts, two lighted tennis courts, one rubberized lighted 1/4 mile track, one lighted football/soccer field, four lighted softball fields, and outdoor jogging trails. Aerobic classes are offered at no charge.

Need a little extra instruction? Fitness 101 class teaches fitness fundamentals and equipment orientation. There are two class times to choose from; Tuesdays at 9 a.m. or Thursdays at 3 p.m. Space is limited, please sign up at least one day in advance.Fitness 101 Booklet, Stretching 101 Booklet

Intramural and extramural sports are important to us at Shaw AFB. Our active intramural/extramural and Varsity sports schedule includes Racquetball, Volleyball, Golf, Men's and Women's Softball, Flag Football, Skeet and Trap, Basketball, and over 30 Basketball. Letters of intent announcing the program and inviting units to participate are sent to the Unit Sports Representatives and First Sergeants approximately four weeks prior to the deadline.

We offer FREE aerobics classes for a variety of fitness levels. Check out our Aerobics Schedule to find a class that fits you!

Group Cycling - Experience indoor cycling with segments of cardio and resistance training. A challenging workout
designed to pump up your cardiovascular fitness.

Zumba - a low impact dance/fitness class which offers a balance of cardio and muscle toning benefits.

Sculpting Express - A total body sculpting class. This class utilizes a variety of resistance equipment including stability ball, resistance bands and weighted bars. Pair this with cardio class for the ultimate workout.

Fit Intervals - A combinations of high and low impact aerobics. The instructor may incorporate step, floor, weight training and dance into this workout. If you like variety in your fitness routine, this is the class for you!

Turbo Kick-Box - Kick off your boots with this high intensity turbo workout! Enjoy segments of punches and kicks which focus on core Strength, flexibility and endurance. Bring lots of water and a towel to class.

Fusion - A class designed to mesh the benefits of both Pilates and Yoga. Increase your flexibility and core strength while incorporating Yoga relaxation techniques.

Masters Class - Class format is chosen by participants and instructors. Choices include: Step, Hi-Lo, Y-Box, Strength Training, or a combination of all four!

Ultimate Circuit Sculpt - An interval class designed for the high calorie burn. It combines short segments of high
intensity cardio to elevate the heart rate along with segments of weight training to speed up the metabolism.
